Research Conflict of Interest Committee (RCOIC)

The Research Conflict of Interest Committee implements the University’s Conflict of Interest regulations and policies to promote research to be conducted with the highest ethical standards, objectivity, and professional integrity while supporting UCF’s mission of world-class research, commercialization, economic growth, and preservation of trust from the public and scientific community. The committee serves as a local regulatory oversight and advisory resource for the University Provost, researchers, and community on the determination and management of actual and potential conflicts of interest involving research.

Public Health Service (PHS) Public Accessibility

Pursuant to PHS regulation requirements, within five days of a written request, UCF will make information available to the public concerning any Significant Financial Interest (SFI) disclosed to UCF that meets the following three criteria:

  • The SFI is still held by the senior/key personnel;

  • The Research Conflict of Interest Committee has determined that the SFI is related to the PHS-funded research; and

  • The Research Conflict of Interest Committee has determined that the SFI is a Financial Conflict of Interest (FCOI).

UCF will provide the following information in a written response to the requestor:

  • The researcher’s name, title, and research project role,

  • The name of the entity in which the SFI is held,

  • The nature of the SFI, and

The approximate dollar value of the SFI (within dollar ranges) or a statement that a value cannot be readily determined.

If you would like to request information on a Financial Conflict of Interest (FCOI) related to a senior/key investigator associated with a PHS-funded award, please submit a request to coi@ucf.edu with the following information:

  • PHS Award Number

  • Researcher’s Full Name
