Who needs to complete Research Conflict of Interest (COI) Training?
Anyone defined as an investigator must complete this training. This includes the project director or principal investigator, co-investigators, key personnel, and any other individual responsible for the design, conduct, or reporting (DCR) of sponsored research, regardless of title, position, or employment status.
Training must be completed before engaging in sponsored research and renewed every four years to stay current with evolving regulations and university policy.
How do I complete the required Research COI Training?
If you are identified in Huron Research Suite (HRS) as serving in a DCR role, you will be assigned the Research COI Training course in Workday. The training must be completed within 30 days of assignment, and a passing score of 80% is required to maintain eligibility to participate in sponsored research.
