Training

Who needs to complete Conflict of Interest (COI) training?

Investigators are required to complete the COI Basic Course prior to engaging in sponsored research and the COI Refresher Course every four (4) years thereafter.

An investigator is defined as the project director or principal investigator, co-investigator, key personnel, and any other person, regardless of title, position, or employment status, who is responsible for the design, conduct, or reporting of sponsored research.

How do I complete the required COI Training?

The required COI training is completed in the CITI Program

Instructions for accessing the COI Training in CITI

A passing score of 80% is required.

Note: UCF has adopted the Public Health Service (PHS) COI regulations for all sponsored research at UCF. Although the CITI COI training references PHS/HHS/NIH, the regulations discussed in the training (i.e., the types of financial interests that must be disclosed, training requirements, etc…) apply to all investigators at UCF who conduct sponsored research for ANY sponsor.
