For Subrecipients & Affiliates

An affiliate is defined as a compensated or uncompensated subcontractor, subrecipient, consultant, or other third-party entity performing sponsored research services for the university under a written or verbal agreement.

Proposal Stage

At the proposal stage for applicable sponsors subject to conflict of interest (COI) requirements, the subrecipient or affiliate must indicate whether or not it has a COI policy that is consistent with applicable federal/sponsor requirements. UCF’s Office of Sponsored Programs confirms this information on the Subrecipient Commitment Form at the time of proposal.

Election to Comply with UCF Policy

If the subrecipient or affiliate is unable to certify a compliant COI policy, they may elect to comply with UCF’s policies and procedures relating to financial conflicts of interest.

In accordance with UCF’s policy, each subrecipient investigator or affiliate responsible for the design, conduct, or reporting of research on the project will submit a Subrecipient Disclosure Form prior to expenditure of funds and complete CITI conflict of interest training within 30 calendar days of agreement execution.
